The journey of Carrie Bradshaw and her friends is coming to an end. The final season of And Just Like That… premieres on M-Net on September 18 at 9pm, concluding a story that began 27 years ago with Sex and the City.
The series follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the complexities of life and friendship in their 50s. This season, Carrie and Aidan (John Corbett) are in a long-distance relationship, Miranda is exploring the challenges of the over-50s gay dating scene, and Charlotte is dealing with her Gen-Z teenagers. Their friends, Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker), also face their own personal trials.
A Show That Found Its Footing
Critics say the third season of And Just Like That… finally hits its stride. According to Rebecca Nicholson of The Guardian, the show is “comfortable in its own skin,” no longer trying to force its characters into the modern age. She notes that the main characters are now simply themselves: wealthy New Yorkers in their 50s whose problems are softened by their immense riches.
Harper’s Bazaar writer Louis Staples agrees, observing that the dialogue is now “snappier and more confident.” He says the characters are unapologetic in what they say, and that this season is the moment the show “finally found its stride.”
