No, it’s got nothing to do with The Prodigy and Keith Flint if you’re old enough to even get this reference to their Firestarter… twisted Firestarter track. It’s actually got more to do with another legend… that of Stephen King whose countless books and novellas have been adapted to screen. ‘The Shawshank Redemption’… King, ‘The Green Mile’… King, ‘Firestarter’… yup, think you get the idea. This one comes to screen from Blumhouse, who have made a big name for themselves in the arena for horror, so it promises to be something special.
‘Don’t Worry Darling’ used to be something British people and mothers tend to say. Now it seems Florence Pugh, who’s on a mission to be in just about everything, is building up to saying. The star of ‘Midsommar’, it seems like just yesterday she was in that break out role in that wrestling movie with Vince Vaughn. It’s not to be confused with ‘Kill Your Darlings’, which is the one with Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter)… but since it’s a psychological thriller about a ’50s housewife whose reality begins to crack… this one could be a lot less tame than its title suggests. Also, there’s a guy named Harry Styles in it.
Doctor Strange is pretty freaking awesome when you take a moment to bow to his superhero abilities. Now that he’s one of the gang, he’s branching out into his second blockbuster. The first one was an absolute blast and the second is now under the tutelage of Sam Raimi. It’s called ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, which sounds like the good doctor will be doing quite a bit of paradigm-shifting. He’s got the CGI team to do it, so why the heck not. Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most unlikely guys to turn into a superhero but he’s played Khan in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’, Sherlock in the Sherlock’ TV series and that genius Alan Turing in ‘The Imitation Game’. When we say unlikely, we’re thinking of him in ‘Starters for 10’ opposite Professor X. Although…
