TEARS animal rescue, (The Emma Animal Rescue Society) is raising funds for winter gear ahead of the cold, rainy months in Cape Town.
One of the country’s leading animal welfare organisations, they aims to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome domestic animals. As a registered, non-profit organisation they rely on the support of people and businesses to help offer relief to animals in distress. Abandoned, abused or neglected the organisation rehabilitate animals using best veterinary and animal behavioural practices to prepare them for adoption.
A pet friendly city, Cape Town has many animal lovers, some of which volunteer at TEARS, giving their free time to assist with rehabilitation and rehoming. Whether you’re looking to adopt or get involved, the rescue organisation needs donations in order to facilitate their services. Buying books, clothing and other items from their charity shops, contributing via monthly debit orders, using the MyPlanet card, becoming a member or even leaving a legacy, it’s an organisation that helps those without a voice.
Their current drive to raise R200,000 to purchase polar fleece blankets and other winter necessities in order to keep their cats and dogs warm this winter is underway. With the chill in the air, temperatures dropping overnight and plenty of needy animals, these donations will make a real impact. From polar fleece blankets to Econo heaters, flooring, stable doors and hot water bottles, you can help them maintain the 100 dogs in the kennels and 150 cats in the cattery. It’s a great way for individuals, companies and schools to get involved in helping those who can’t help themselves. You can pledge a donation here.
