Longtime South African journeymen actors and Hollywood based thespians, Stelio Savante and Neil Sandilands both feature heavily in the trailer and first released clip of Andy Stapp’s surrealist sci-fi film Destination Marfa which will soon release both in the US and internationally. Headlined by horror icon Tony Todd and Savante, Destination Marfa follows four lifelong friends who decide to veer off the road and venture into a small West Texas town known as Marfa, where they encounter strange lights as the line between reality and fantasy become increasingly blurred.

In 2020, Savante starred opposite Jim Caviezel in the action thriller Infidel directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh, as well as in a guest role in the international biblical hit series The Chosen following up his supporting role opposite Matt Dillon in Netflix’s Running for Grace, and voicing the South African lead character ‘Ajax’ in the Call of Duty series. The Austin Arthouse Film Festival nominated him for their ‘Cassavetes’ award for his leading role in the film PRONOIA. He will next be seen in Laphram Rising, starring opposite Frank Langella, Bobby Cannavale and Ashley Benson and he is also a producer of the upcoming football film, Under the Stadium Lights starring Laurence Fishburne and Milo Gibson.

Sandilands most recently had a cameo role opposite Tom Hanks in the Academy Award nominated western drama News of the World directed by Paul Greengrass. In South Africa, local audiences viewed him in the small-town psychological thriller Showmax Original series Dam, filmed in the Eastern Cape. As singer/songwriter, his 7 minute 33 second single ‘Goue Graal’ was released to local audiences earlier last year both on the radio and as a music video. He will next co star in Netflix’s upcoming drama series Sweet Tooth based on the DC Vertigo comic. The series was filmed in New Zealand and is set for release later this year.
